A Normal parkrun Morning

I took a slow walk along the Brisbane River to Rocks Riverside parkrun, caught up with friends and followed the 5k with breakfast.

Saturday morning began with a slow walk down along the Brisbane River towards Rocks Riverside parkrun.

For the first time in four months, I wasn’t wearing compression tights, a compression shirt and an HAA shirt. I had ordinary running gear on and a simple plan: a relaxed four-kilometre walk, a gentle 5k, then breakfast with friends.

I was early enough to enjoy the spring morning while I waited for people to turn up. The moon was still visible through the trees, the sun was coming up over the river and there was plenty to look at along the riverside paths.

At parkrun I caught up with Nic and Karen, and met yet another school friend of my running buddy Shaun.

That was exactly the sort of parkrun morning I had been looking forward to.

Then came the promised breakfast. Somehow I didn’t take a single photo of the food. It must have been so good that I was too busy eating it lol.
