AfterwardsThe flight home to Perth
I Walked And Ran Across All Of That
After 125 days on the road and almost two weeks in Brisbane, I finally boarded a plane home and saw the scale of the whole adventure on the in-flight map.

Tuesday morning finally brought the flight home to Perth.
After 125 days on the road and almost two weeks in Brisbane, it was time. I had genuinely considered hiring a car and driving back the way I had come, but instead I ripped off the bandaid and got on a plane.
At Brisbane Airport there was time for two final photos: one looking out through the aircraft window and another from my seat, smiling and ready to go.
My farewell was simple:
See you again soon Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and everywhere else in between!
Once we were in the air, I looked at the map on the in-flight entertainment system. Australia was there on the screen in front of me, and I had one very simple thought:
I walked and ran across all of that.
For months I had seen the country a few kilometres at a time. Highways, towns, rest areas, hills, cities, people, road signs and the back of the campervan. Now I was flying back over it in a matter of hours.
It was a strange feeling after spending so long focused on one task, but the adventure was done and I was going home.
London was next.
