A Parkrun Fix Without Parkrun
I moved toward the next stop with the day's people, support, and small human moments giving the kilometres their shape.
Parkrun had a funny way of making the crossing feel connected to normal life.
the next stop was where we were aiming, but the bigger feeling was that another distant name was becoming real under my feet.
It’s such a privilege to be able to have an impact on people through my story, but I reckon the kudos here belong to Eliza - her project has undoubtedly had a positive impact on at least one group of 9 year olds, and may well lead to son better choices by some as they grow older well done Eliza!
I’d seen a group of runners in the distance so, while having my first cuppa break of the day, I googled for local parkruns.
I was only having my break about 500m from the Bowral parkrun start/finish area!
When the day was done, another 45.9 kilometres were behind me, and the accumulated total sat at 4483.3 kilometres.
That was the shape of so many HAA days: my feet doing the obvious work, and other people quietly making the impossible parts practical.
